Horse Card Using Animal Kingdom and Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut Cartridges and My Pink Stamper Stamps

On Tuesdays, I always check the Twisted Tuesday Challenges Blog to see what the challenge is for the week.  They post a challenge and then add a little twist.  This week the name of the challenge is “Farm Living is the Life For Me” just like the theme song in Green Acres!  The twist is that you have to have grass somewhere on your card.  As soon as I read it, I had an idea!

I cut the horses using the Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge, and the cowboy using the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut Cartridge.  The grass is from the Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge too.  I cut it in small pieces to go over the fence posts.   I used the Old West Cricut Cartridge to cut the fence in off white, then used Colorbox Cat’s Eye Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink to add some “weathering”.

It’s hard to see in the photo, but the background paper is pale blue with white clouds on it.  It was in a baby boy paper pack.  Sometimes you have to think outside the box.  The Hay’ neigh-bor! is from the More Punny-licious Stamp Set from My Pink Stamper.

I need to use the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut Cartridge more often.  Those little people are so darn cute!!!!  To see more projects using this cartridge, visit Cricut Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up.

Deer Birthday Card Using Pazzles Creative Cutter

Here is my creation for this week’s {PIN}spirational challenge.  The inspiration was this beautiful fall deer picture.  Since I’m from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, this challenge was right up my alley!

I cut the deer on my Pazzles Creative Cutter Pro.  The Happy Birthday Sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Sentiment from Stampin’ Up.  The small oval is from a Stampin’ Up Punch.

I used dotted and a striped navy papers.  I thought they were a good choice for a masculine birthday card and matched nicely with the brown deer.

Redneck Crafts Using Shotgun Shells

This  is going to be different from my usual posts.  I love all things crafty!!  And with my discovery of Pinterest, I have opened my eyes to a whole new world of ideas!!!  I had pinned this idea, because I thought it was so cool!  I really didn’t know that I would ever make it, since no one in my family hunts.

My best friend was planning a redneck/hunting themed wedding rehearsal dinner for her son.  She had a john boat draped in camouflage, complete with goose decoys dressed as a bride and groom.  The boat held tubs of soda and beer.  I thought this would be the perfect time to make these wreaths!  I texted my daughter’s friend to ask if he had any shotgun shells.  Within 10 seconds he called me back and said, “I have shot fun shells, Miss Pam, but I’m scared to ask what you need them for!” haha!  I should have been a little more specific and said that I needed spent shells, not live ones!

To make the wreath, I used 50-60 shells for a 14″ straw wreath.  A glue gun holds them on really well, but I suggest NOT using the low temp glue guns.  The shells stayed on much better with the regular glue gun, even though I had to hold them in place longer for them to cool.  I finished the wreath with a burlap bow.  Wood Stoves are popular in my area, especially in Man Caves.  Since the shot gun shells are held on with hot glue, I don’t know how well it will hold up if hung near a wood stove.

For the table arrangements, I covered a round crock with camouflage fabric by cutting a square then tucking it into the top of the crock.  Then I tied a baler twine bow around the top.  I used the Crop-a-dile to punch holes into the shotgun shells and attached them with thin twine so they hung from the bow.  My friend and her aunt filled the containers with sunflowers, cat tails, mums, and wheat.  They were perfect!

One of the groom’s friends made this sign that says, ”The Hunt is Over”.  It was perfect in the John Boat with the goose decoys and tubs of soda and beer.   It was a wonderful rehearsal dinner.  The groom wanted a Redneck-Camouflage wedding, but his fiance had other plans.  This was a good alternative!

Cute Cricut Project – 40 Sucks Lollipop Arrangement

We were invited to a 40th Birthday Party for my friend, Jodie. Instead of gifts, she asked that everyone bring a toy to be donated to Toys for Tots. What a great idea!   I saw this lollipop arrangement idea on Pinterest (what did I ever do before Pinterest???), and thought it would be cute to make for Jodie’s Party.

The container originally came with bath and body supplies in it.  I love when I can repurpose something instead of throwing it out!   I put a block of floral foam inside and covered it with crinkled basket filler.  I wasn’t thinking when I bought the filler and should have gotten a color that better matched the bright purple container!  Since I was making it the night before the party, it was too late when I realized my mistake.  Then I had to find patterned paper to match the purple and red….UGHHH!!!  I had zilch!  So I trekked to my Mom’s house and we searched her stash until I found the dotted paper.  The purple dots didn’t quite match the container, but it was close enough!

I used the largest oval from Nestabilities to cut the dotted paper, and the largest scalloped Nestabilities oval to cut the red background.  Then I used the Cricut Base Camp Font Cartridge to cut the 40 Sucks.  The 40 was cut at 1 3/4″, and the Sucks was cut at 3/4″.  I attached tongue depressors to the back so I could add them to the arrangement.  Do you have tongue depressors in your scrapping stash????  LOL!!!

To arrange the lollipops I stuck the sticks in the foam.  I alternated sides so that I could get them distributed evenly.  Then I stuck the 40 Sucks Signs in.  If I had more time, I would have added some flowers or something fun, but I still like how it turned out!

Everyone at the party loved it and thought it was so clever!  You could use this for any age…30, 40, 50 , or 60!  Or you could do “Sweet 16″ or “21 is so sweeeeet!”  with a variety of candy attached to popsickle sticks.

Fall Cricut Card Featuring Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge

Happy Fall Ya’ll!   It finally feels like fall here in Maryland.  After a few muggy, humid days, it has cooled off and the humidity has disappeared.  It’s perfect weather for making Autumn and Harvest Cards!

The challenge at {PIN}spirational Challenges this week was a gorgeous photo of a maple tree draped in its fall leaves.  The oranges, rusts, and golds were breathtaking.  I thought the tree on the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut Cartridge would make a beautiful card.

The paper is from an Heidi Swapp.   The shaped medallian behind the tree was cut using the Songbird Cricut Cartridge.  It makes a nice backdrop.

I actually cut 3 trees using the Stretch You Imagation Cricut Cartridge.  The tree was so skinny, and I wanted a fatter tree.  The first one that I cut is the main trunk with branches at the top.  Then I cut 2 more trees, trimmed the trunks off and put one on each side of the first to make the tree fuller.  It worked great!  Then I cut LOTS of leaves using 3 shades of orange Bazzill Cardstock and attached them with a glue pen.  YES, they are individual leaves!  I love how it looks, but I wouldn’t want to make 10 of these cards, that’s for sure!  To finish the tree I added Cinnamon, Copper, and Paprika Stickles Glitter Glue and a rust knot tied from Close To My Heart Ribbon.

This would make a great Fall Birthday Card or Thank You Note.  To see more birthday cards, visit Cricut Birthday Cards.  For more projects using this Cricut Cartridge, visit Stretch Your Imagination Cricut Cartridge.

Cricut Birthday Card Using Create A Critter Cartridge and My Pink Stamper Stamp

How could anyone get too upset for missing their birthday if you sent them a Cricut Card with this adorable bumble bee on it???  This cutie is from the Cricut Create A Critter Cartridge.  That cartridge has the most adorable animals on it!!  Provocraft has released a Create A Critter 2, but I haven’t bought it yet. I wonder if the critters are as easy to assemble as with the original Cricut Cartridge?

The Designer Paper is from a Stampin’ Up 6×6 stack that I got last year during Sale-A-Bration.  The solid papers are all from Bazzill.  I love the texture and weight or Bazzill cardstock

The sentiment is from the Even More Punny-licious set from My Pink Stamper.  To see more projects using My Pink Stamper Sets, visit My Pink Stamper Stamps.  To see more projects using the Create A Critter Cartridge, visit Cricut Create A Critter.

CAS Thank You Card for Twisted Tuesday Challenge

I really went outside of my comfort zone on this card!!!  The challenge at Twisted Tuesday Challenges was to go back to basics and make a card without using the Cricut or other die cutting machine and no punches!  What are those TWISTED girls trying to do to me?!?!?!  After much thought, I was drawing a blank, so I went to the Split Coast Stampers forum to look for a CAS (Clean and Simple) sketch.  I have participated in many challenges, but never one on Split Coast, but I found a place in the forum for a weekly CAS challenge.  So I’ll give it a try!

The designer paper is Mocha Morning from Stampin’ Up, and the layered flowers are from Graphic 45.  I won them in a National Scrapbook Day challenge and hadn’t opened them yet.  They match perfectly!  The Thank You sentiment is from the Day of Gratitiude set from Stampin’ Up.   I added three pearls to finish the card.  You’ll notice that I used brown!!!  I hardly ever make brown cards.  Most of my cards are bright, pastelly, and girly!  This was a nice change.

This was a really easy sketch to follow, and the card went together quickly.  I would definitely use this sketch again.

House Mouse and Penny Black Hedgehog Cards

Here are stamps by my two favorite companies!  The adorable hedgehog is from the Penny Black Garden Party Acrylic Stamp Set.  I have always loved Penny Black!  Those hedgehogs are just too cute and cheerful.  I colored her using Watercolor pencils and a Blender Pen.  Since the flowers were so tiny, I colored them using a brush tip marker.  The oval and scalloped oval were cut using Nestabilities and the Cuttlebug.  The designer paper and friendship tag and bow from a K&Co. set.

This House Mouse stamp with the big mouse holding the little mouse to blow out the candle is so sweet!  It is called Make a Wish.  I used watercolor pencils and a blender pen.  The oval and scalloped oval were cut using Nestabilities and the Cuttlebug.  The happy birthday sentiment and the label that it’s punched on are from Stampin’ Up.  The border punch is called Optic Circles and is from Martha Stewart.

Get Well Card Using Cricut Create A Critter Cartridge and My Pink Stamper Stamps

Who wouldn’t love this cute preppy whale???  I created this card for the challenge this week at {Pin}spirational Challenges.  Each week they post a great photo that you use as inspiration to create a card.  This week’s photo is below.  I’ve had this whale sitting on my work table for several months now, waiting to be added to a project.  When I saw the photo, I knew what I was going to do!  The whale is from the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge, and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.
